Our Team

Shannon Cox – Executive Director and President

  • Shannon Cox started the Rocky Mountain Foundation of Hope after her sister-in-law, Jewely Del Duca, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in early 2008. It is her vision and dream to support cancer patients throughout the country as well as raise money for cancer patients whose care, surgeries, and treatments are denied by their insurance companies. Shannon has a degree in psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and also has an extensive background in sales. Shannon lives in Parker, Colorado with her husband, Alan, and their children, Caitlyn and Tyler.

Jewely Del Duca – Community Outreach Coordinator

  • Jewely Del Duca is a wife and an elementary school teacher living in Littleton, Colorado. In 2008, she was informed that she had stage 4 colon cancer at the young age of 34. She endured two major surgeries, underwent aggressive chemotherapy for a year, and continues to get periodic PET scans to this day.  She was originally denied treatment by her insurance company for the HIPEC surgery she was prescribed by her oncologist. The trials and tribulations associated with getting her insurance company to agree to the procedure led to Jewely wanting to help others in her situation.
